Having worked with birds of prey for over ten years, in 2017 I decided to setup business on my own. Falconry became my passion following a six month placement in Guadalajara, Mexico, where I was involved in rehabilitating and releasing birds of prey. Following this I was also involved in a research project in Southern India, with a focus on the declining vulture population. The data from this visit was used in the dissertation for my Batchelor of Science degree in Veterinary Health Science.
In my career so far I have worked in various aspects of falconry including the care, training and breeding of many types of bird. These have included Owls, Vultures, Falcons, Kites, Hawks and some more unusual birds such as Ravens, Kookaburras and even a Marabou Stork.
During seven years working at Thorp Perrow Arboretum and Bolton Castle as Head Falconer, I have run large displays to the general public, conducted wedding displays including ring bearing as well as redesigning and managing the breeding program.
Through my new venture Northern Sky Falconry, I can offer a tailor made service to suit the individual, the happy couple, the family looking for an exciting day out or the company looking for something a little bit different.
